Missing Overlap Mapping Data
Hi,
I tried downloading the unmerged datasets. I looked for the tract-district mapping file (SD_TRACT_MAPPING2010.csv), but it was not in the folder. There's only the census data, the graduation rates data, and the max tract overlap data.
I thought at first that the max tract overlap data would provide all the mapping, but no. It only provides mapping for school districts and their maximum overlapping tract.
Can you please include the file with all the mapping logic?
Thanks,
Azi

Similar question. From the max_tract_overlap.csv data, it looks like there is a one to one relationship between GIDTR and Leadid. If I understand correctly, the organizer has only provided the maximum overlapping tract in the specific district.
What we really need is the set of tracts within a specific school district and each tract's specific percentage of overlap. I believe that is in SD_TRACT_MAPPING2010 but it isnt provided. Can the organizers please prioritize this since it affects everything we are doing ? Otherwise the analysis results would be significantly biased !

Hi Azi and Sri,
Good news - we've updated the unmerged datasets folder to include the SD_TRACT_MAPPING2010.csv file. You can download it here: https://challenges.s3.amazonaws.com/data_for_diplomas/Data%20for%20Diplomas_Unmerged%20Data.zip
Thanks and good luck!

Thanks...Its too bad this new data came in at this stage. We did a lot of work before uncovering this gap. We will have to redo a lot of this work now...
